Zombie Dance Party

One of the many zombies I encountered on the evening.

Last Thursday, I wrote about how I was preparing for the zombie dance party/CD release show for Night Driving in Small Towns here in Atlanta.  The good folks from local label Lower 40 Records invited me to do some shots of the bands for them, and it was an opportunity that I couldn’t pass up, besides what could be more fun than a bunch of people dressed up as zombies on a random Friday night?  The bands on the bill in addition to NDIST were Oryx & Crake and Today the Moon, Tomorrow the Sun.

Before the show, I was able to spend some time with the bands and the crew as they got zombified by Professor Morte from the Silver Scream Spook Show.  How quickly the transformations took place was simply astounding, but that was mostly because of how skilled Professor Morte is at what he does.

For this shoot, I took my Canon Rebel T1I with a 50 mm f/1.8 lens, but I also brought along my Minolta X-570 manual with a 50 mm f/2.0.  This was the that I’ve shot with the Minolta since pulling it out of storage and since I’ve yet to start developing my own film, I’ll post some of those photos next week once I get them back from the lab.  As for digital photos, I took over 430 pictures on the evening and after the jump you can see a small handful of some of my favorites from the night.

Be sure to check out the new album, Serial Killer, by Night Driving in Small Towns, and click any photo below for a larger look.  To see the rest of the set, visit my set page on Flickr.
