30 Days: Day 8 – Faceless Self-Portrait

For Day 8′s faceless self-portrait, I wanted to use the opportunity to portray more than just my physical presence, but also a physical part of my personality.  Naturally, the first thing that came to mind was my love for my kids, but that’s always visible if you see me with them, so I decided instead to focus on something that doesn’t get seen much, but is there if you catch me at the right moment.

As a kid I hated to read, but as I’ve gotten older I’ve learned to enjoy it more and more, and I’ve probably read more this year than any other year of my life.  This has been the year that I finally tackled the epic The Fountainhead and also classics that I had just never gotten around to reading like Slaughterhouse-Five and Frankenstein.  Last night, I finished reading The Sound and the Fury, which was probably the most difficult read I’ve had this year, if for no other reason than the constant use of Southern dialect (and my extreme hatred for trying to decipher it), so for day 8, I offer a glimpse of myself engrossed in trying to understand Faulkner.
