30 Days: Day 10 – Still Life
Day 10′s Still Life photo was another one of those concepts that I was really forward to shooting. There are so many different ways that it can be interpreted, and I really wanted to approach it from a new perspective–at least one that I hadn’t explored before. What I knew going into the photo was that I wanted to show something that is thought about or used everyday, but may not necessarily get any attention at all. As I laid in bed yesterday morning, some of the things that come to mind were silverware and dishware, bedding and pillows, a toothbrush, etc. I was thinking about things that just about everyone goes through (at least in my house) during their normal morning routine.
As I stood in my closet looking at and trying to decide on my clothing for the day, I realized that the answer was staring right back at me. Of all the parts of a person’s house you may see when you go to visit or spend some time with them, I can’t recall ever being in someone else’s closet. Not even considering a person’s style of clothing, but how much about someone can you learn from how they organize (or don’t organize) the clothing in their closet? So for day 10′s still life photo, I explored a family member’s closet space.
