30 Days: Day 11 – Street Lights
Day 11 just so happened to also be the 10th anniversary of the September 11 terrorist attacks. So, in keeping with the spirit of the day, I decided to shoot today’s Street Lights concept with 9/11 in mind. I live in the suburbs of Atlanta, and I’m not one for ceremonies, memorials, vigils, or the like, so I wanted to approach the theme from a symbolic perspective.
I’ve been wanting to photograph my local fire department at night for months, and today seemed like the perfect reason to finally go and do that. While I’m thankful that the trucks were there for me to photograph, I think it would have been a more powerful shot if one of them had been out on a call at the time. Nonetheless, as I mentioned, shooting the fire station had been on my to do list for months, and I’m happy with the results.
