Day 12 called for a picture of the season, which at the moment is extremely late summer.  I had an idea that I would  focus my photographs on the coming fall, and for most of the photos I took on day 12, that’s exactly what I did.  Fall officially starts in about five days, and is probably my favorite season with all of the fall festivals, carnivals, and the much appreciated cooler weather.

As I was going through the photos, however, I decided that instead of the approaching fall, I wanted to show what remained of summer since in a couple of months the area will look completely barren and just about everyone will be talking about how cold it is and how they can’t wait until next summer.

So, for day 12, instead of changing leaves and scarves blowing in the harsh wind, I present a reminder of all those peaceful late summer evenings out sitting out on the porch or laying in the hammock listening to a gentle breeze flow through the trees.
