After a few days of taking photos that I really wasn’t happy with around the house, I was glad to to head over to the Gwinnett County Fair for day 18′s animals photo and do something completely different and new.  While we didn’t manage to catch any of the livestock shows, several of the exhibitors put on a petting zoo of sorts for visitors to see the enormity of the animals, touch their hides, and even have some animals available for purchase.

The family and I have seen both cows and pigs up close before, but most of us had never seen a bull in person before.  In fact, the extent of my knowledge about bulls can be summarized in three sources: The Story of Ferdinand, The Sun Also Rises, and Looney Tunes.  Although the bulls that we met were kept enclosed in a fence, they were extremely calm and one even seemed to lie down on its side to be rubbed similar to a dog.  We didn’t learn any of their names, but this sleepy fellow was nice enough to let me snap a few pics of him through the fence.
